The brand-new Batur, limited-edition coupe will be the final Bentley to use the renowned 6.0-litre W12 engine with the rumbling new look.

The British company launched Mulliner Batur last week after announcing the name and a few teaser photographs of the new vehicle. A brand-new two-door grand touring coupé that symbolizes the beginning of a design transformation; which Bentley calls the most spectacular grand tourer yet. Additionally, Bentley claims that the Batur boasts the most innovative chassis system ever for the brand.

The Bentley Mulliner Batur is a coachbuilt two-door grand touring coupe that Bentley will produce in very few quantities. There will be just 18 Baturs constructed, but the price of each of the 18 Bentley Mulliner Baturs will be almost $1.9 million. Bentley gave us an early glimpse at some of the design concepts it has for rebirth with the EXP 100 GT Concept.

The all-electric coupe that Bentley gave itself as a 100th anniversary present back in 2019. Mulliner Batur now takes that concept a step further. The Batur replaces the Bentley Bacalar, a production run of a custom-made car that gave Bentley’s coachbuilding division fresh life. Like the Bacalar, the Batur has the name of a stunning natural water body that emerges from a lake in Bali, Indonesia. The Batur, however, is so much more than a mere display and the name.

According to Bentley, the car serves as a showcase for the brand’s upcoming electric vehicle design language. This, however, is not an EV. Instead, Bentley powered the Batur with the twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine, which is now more potent than ever. This twin-turbocharged W12 engine powered Bentley’s success for the past two decades.

It produces 734 lb-ft of torque and 738 hp. As a result of Bentley’s full electrification strategy, the W12 engine’s career is about to come to an end. This honors the celebration of the engine’s power, torque, and refinement. The most cutting-edge Bentley chassis ever complements the power of this engine.

It features adaptive air suspension, 48-volt active anti-roll bars, all-wheel drive, an electronic limited-slip differential, and torque vectoring technology. A set of carbon-silicon carbide brakes with 10-piston front and 4-piston rear brake calipers controls this monster. The Batur shares the platform with the Continental GT Speed and has all the same performance features, including an exhaust system made of titanium with 3D-printed tips.

Bentley designed Batur’s seats for the highest level of customization and long-distance grand touring. Its interior has been hand-trimmed in an amazing combination of black, red, and orange. A laser-engraved sound wave that represents the distinctive sound of the W12 engine is also included on the dashboard as an original work of art.

It’s not a terrible aspect that they closely linked the interior to the Continental GT. However, we can differentiate apart using specific materials. Customers who purchase a Batur will be able to modify every part of the car. That includes the interior trim, upholstery, and different skins from various sites. Additionally, Bentley provides some really distinctive materials.

The three choices for eco-friendly materials within the Batur are pseudo-like leatherette from Italy, Scotland, and Dinamica. And also this is the first time the company has used recycled yarn in carpet manufacture. Bentley also says it employs a natural fiber composite that they source more responsibly in place of carbon fiber. The rear diffuser, side skirts, and front splitter are all made of natural fibers.

This week, the new Bentley Mulliner Batur coupe makes its debut in Monterey, California, developed by Director of Design Andreas Mindt and his team. This new design gene will finally direct Bentley’s future line of Battery Electric Vehicles. For the first time in a very long time, Bentley’s vehicles will have a different appearance.

Despite being instantly recognizable as a Bentley, the Batur is a fastback two-door coupe with a tall hood and an elegant roofline. It looks more futuristic than ever. Although compared to a Continental GT from the current lineup, you can clearly discern that it is a Bentley.

The Batur features a big, upright rectangular grille with a rounded tip-top edge, and they covered the inside in an incredibly intricate diamond pattern with colorful, gradient chevron accents. The grille appears to be tilting further toward the front. It almost has a boat tail appearance because of the thin tail lights.

In contrast, they have redesigned the headlamps to continue the theme introduced by Bacalar. They mounted a detachable spoiler beneath the redesigned tail lamp. The Batur, according to Bentley, adopts the “resting beast stance,” which they modeled after how a lion or tiger crouches before striking.
