The McLaren MSO HS, also known as the 688 HS, is one of the rarest models introduced by the automaker in recent years. Now, one of these rare cars has hit the market thanks to McLaren London.

Production of the 688 HS was capped at just 25 examples. Each unit was based around the 675LT but the British car manufacturer made a host of performance-focused and aerodynamic modifications to it.

Key visual changes made include the fitment of carbon fiber canards to the front bumper, a large roof scoop that was an expensive option on standard 675LT models, louvers on the front quarter panels, and a towering active rear wing. McLaren also stripped away some weight from the 675LT with even more carbon fiber parts.

This particular MSO HS is bathed in MSO Racing Green contrasted with a host of bright yellow accents. The car also rocks matte black wheels sitting over yellow brake calipers and certainly makes a very bold statement.

As for the interior, McLaren equipped each MSO HS model with the same carbon fiber bucket seats as the P1 hypercar. It also fitted four-point harnesses and a track telemetry system. The original owner of this car opted to have the interior bathed in Alcantara rather than the leather option that was also available.

Powering the car is the same basic 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 of the 675LT, although it has been tuned to deliver 688 hp and 516 lb-ft (699 Nm) of torque between 3,000 and 7,000 rpm.

McLaren London’s listing for the car notes that it has approximately 2,000 miles (3,200 km) on the clock and an asking price of £599,995 (~$736,000). That is a lot of money and almost double the price of what some 675LTs are selling for.

The heavily modified coupe boasts an extra 262 horsepower from a custom 4.4L supercharged V8.
