It is hard to keep track of all the limited-edition Ford Mustang models that have been released over the decades but one variant that has always stood out is the Cobra R. Now one particularly stunning example is up for sale.

This Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R is one of just 300 models that were produced for that year. It is painted in Performance Red, like all other Cobra Rs, and has never been modified. Making it all the more desirable is the fact that it has just 1,905 miles (3,065 km) on the clock.

The limited-run Mustang SVT Cobra R left the factory with a 5.4-liter naturally-aspirated V8 producing 385 hp at 5,700 rpm and 385 lb-ft (522 Nm) of torque at 4,500 rpm, all while revving to 6,500 rpm. A number of other modifications were made to the car, including the fitment of lowered springs, Bilstein shocks and struts, and large 4-piston Brembo brake calipers up front. It also has a T-56 Tremec six-speed manual transmission with a Gerodisc hydro-mechanical differential driving the rear wheels.

At that the time, it was the fastest production Mustang ever hitting 60mph (96 km/h) in a still relevant 4.7 seconds before topping out at 177 mph (285 km/h).

Various visual modifications were also made to the car. For example, it features a unique bodykit with a pronounced front lip, a power dome hood, unique side skirts, a distinctive rear diffuser, and a fixed rear wing. The Collecting Cars listing notes that this example’s original front spoiler has been misplaced, which is a bit of a shame.

Given the low-mileage of the car, it shares very little signs of wear. As such, the Performance Red paint is in fantastic condition and there is no wear or damage on the dark Charcoal cloth upholstery across the front seats.
