5 Things That Make The Jailbreak A Better Muscle Car Than The Blackwing

While the CT5-V Blackwing is a sophisticated luxury sedan that wants to run with the German premium trio, the Charger Jailbreak is an old-school middle finger to European luxury

While both American sedans look aggressive, the Charger Jailbreak flexes muscle with its hood bulge, flared fenders, and lots of functional vents. The Blackwing is a bit more under the radar

The massive hood bulge is not there just for looks. Underneath is a 2.7-liter supercharger, which is bigger than the standard Hellcat's 2.4-liter blower

Muscle cars have always been about making them your own. With the Jailbreak, you can choose the brake caliper color and even the badge finish. While the CT5-V Blackwing offers its fair share of personalization, it's not nearly as extensive

The 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI in the Charger Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak packs 807 hp at 6,300 RPM and 707 lb/ft at 4,600 RPM

GM has let Cadillac do their own tweaks to the LT4 engine. This resulted in the 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 making 668 hp at 6,400 RPM and 659 lb/ft at 3,600 RPM

Since November 2021, all supercharged Dodge models can only be had with the 8-speed automatic. The Cadillac has a 10-speed automatic, but a 6-speed TR-6060 manual is also available

While, generally, considered a downside, muscle cars were never about luxury. While the Jailbreak's interior is still a nice place to be, the Cadillac is more luxurious. Dodge's interior also features more hard plastics

While both sedans come in a variety of great colors, MOPAR's catalog features some insane stuff, just like in the 1960s. Go Mango, Torred, Hellraisin, and the Frostbite Blue seen here are only a few of the Jailbreak's available colors

Despite the mouthful of a name, the Charger Jailbreak is the last hurrah of old-school, supercharged muscle cars. While Cadillac's formula is heading for the Germans, Dodge's super-sedan is more in tune with the muscle car philosophy
