LIDCOMBE, Australia – Ateco Automotive is recalling 535 of its 2020-2021 model-year LDV Deliver 9 cargo vans due to a potential brake-system issue.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued a recall notice citing a potential brake defect.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear brake pipe may leak brake fluid,” the report stated.

“If the rear brake pipe leaks, this may result in a loss of braking performance, which can increase the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users,” added the ACCC’s notice.
The company is part of SAIC, the largest auto manufacturer in China, and the 36th largest company in the world. LDV became part of SAIC in 2010 when it acquired the commercial division of the British Motor Corporation, and LDV can be traced back to the 1890s. SAIC also manufactured almost seven million vehicles in 2017 and in 2015 ranked 10th on Forbes magazine’s list of the largest auto companies in the world. The company has also made products that have been sold under some of the most recognizable car names in the world via joint ventures with General Motors and Volkswagen
