Company Behind Lithium Mining Site In Canada Says It Could Power 5 Million New EVs
In news that’s bound to please those hoping North America will be able to move away from fossil fuels, Snow Lake Lithium has announced that its site in Manitoba, Canada, can provide enough raw materials for the creation of 5 million new EVs. Locally sourcing such raw materials will be a big boost for U.S. car manufacturers, especially as pressure to ditch materials sourced from China increases.
2023 Dodge Challenger And Charger Scat Pack Swinger Combine Retro Styling Cues With 485 HP
Next in the line of last-call special editions is the return of the Swinger Moniker, which will be applied to both the Charger and Challenger. The 2023 Challenger R/T Scat Pack Swinger features Gold School accents on the grille, badges, and Shaker intake, as well as 20-inch Gold School wheels with six-piston Brembo brakes with black calipers. The Charger is more of the same but lacks the Shaker intake. Inside both cars are Nappa leather and Alcantara seats with green stitching, a green Dodge Rhombi logo, and a Swinger badge on the dash.

The KTM X-Bow GT-XR is being billed as the ultimate road-going variant of the model and is limited to just 100 examples per annum. That’s enough for a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h) and a 0–62 mph (0–100 km/h) time of 3.4 seconds. Ford has been whetting our appetite yet again as it gears up for the September 14 reveal of the all-new 2024 Mustang, with both an image and a video clip. While not a lot is revealed in the photo, as is to be expected, we do get a glimpse of the new car’s lines — particularly the shape of the hood and a more upright and prominent grille. There’s also the hint of muscular rear fenders and what appears to be a modest spoiler. But the real highlight is the clip’s audio, featuring the ‘Stang making a high-speed run. Sadly, it’s just the sound, but that’s enough to get us excited for now.
Detroit Firms Fined $10 Million For Aftermarket Emissions Defeat Devices
While automakers have already had to face the music over emissions defeat devices, the U.S. government is now going after those in the aftermarket industry that helped cars sidestep federal emissions regulations. Two firms from the Detroit Metro area have been fined after being caught by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) manufacturing, selling, and fitting parts to diesel trucks that violated the Clean Air Act. Orion Diesel and performance diesel specialist Diesel Ops were together told to cough up $10 million by a civil court.

Hacktivist collective Anonymous has taken credit for a recent hack of a Russian ride-hailing app, and the ensuing traffic jam that was caused. The group bypassed the Yandex Taxi app’s security mechanisms and created multiple false orders for taxis, sending all available cars to a single location. The traffic jam appears to have been cleared up in a matter of hours, although it does highlight the vulnerability of hacking automotive-related causes.

Apple’s much-awaited September event took place yesterday, with the unveiling of the new iPhone 14, AirPods Pro, and Apple Watch Series 8.
