Most aspects are comparable, though the Indian Motorcycles deliver more horses wrapped in luxury housing with its Pursuit Limited Premium. Read on to find out the similarities and differences between these two luxury tourers and which one edges out as the prime.

The 2022 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Limited takes the battle to the Indian Pursuit Limited Premium in this heavy-duty American touring face-off.

When Harley-Davidson created Road Glide Limited, it was well received and had a lot of notable features. At 3000 RPM, it puts out 122 ft-lbs of torque and 93 HP, and it gets 43 MPG in fuel economy. Further, the Road Glide Limited showcases a 4.5” stroke and a 10.5:1 compression ratio.

Its engine is a Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight 114, and it features Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) for further efficiency. Lights are all over the place on this model, making it easy to be seen at night and offering riders some security, and helping them relax while enjoying a night ride. Its multiple LED bulbs are either 40-watt or 60-watt bulbs, specifically, the low beams are 40 watts and the high beams are 60 watts.

The bike has LED rear turn signals, as well as tail lights, stop lights, and front signal lights. The bike features a primary drive drivetrain and a front fork 49mm dual-bending valve. In terms of braking, the front brakes are dual floating rotors, while the rear brake is a fixed rotor.

The Pursuit Limited Premium is, as the name indicates, a premium package that offers more than the base model does. It has a 3.79-inch stroke, which is slightly shorter than that of the Harley-Davidson Road Glide Limited. Its compression ratio is higher, standing at 11.0:1. Its liquid-cooled, Power Plus engine has an electronic fuel injection system with closed-loop fuel injection, and the engine puts out 128 ft-lbs of torque at 3800 RPM.

Further, the engine showcases 122 HP, which is far more than its Harley-Davidson counterpart. The braking system on the Pursuit Limited Premium is a dual, four-piston radial caliper on the front with a single, two-piston caliper on the rear. A front fork suspension is used, with an inverted telescopic fork and a 43 mm diameter.

Like the Harley-Davidson Road Glide Limited, it has many gauges to feed the rider information. Even more, alerts are provided via LED, such as cruise control, high beams on or off, turn signals, ABS, check engine, low oil pressure, battery, and low fuel.

The Harley-Davidson Road Glide Limited has a decent number of both enjoyable infotainment features and secure safety features. With four 5.25-inch speakers set to blare AM or FM radio, riders can enjoy the music or audio of their choice. These speakers showcase 25 watts per channel and there's a USB connection for riders to plug-in SD cards, MP3 players, and flash drives.

Should that not be enough for a rider's enjoyment, a Sirius XM upgrade is available in Canada and the United States. Bluetooth comes standard, so riders can make and take calls hands-free, allowing them to focus on operating the bike and watching the road.

Also, to give riders a feeling of safety, anti-lock brakes (ABS) and electronically linked braking (ELB) are both included. Cruise control is also a standard option. Sadly, these options don't come cheap; depending on the color scheme, prices range from $28,729 to $31,874.

One perk of the Indian Pursuit Premium is an elaborate infotainment package. It's not quite as focused on music or audio for entertainment as the Road Glide special is, but it offers an elevated experience in terms of luxury and functional connectivity. Apple CarPlay integration is part of the package, along with traffic and weather updates, as well as navigation and maps. On top of that, the 2022 models of the Indian Pursuit Limited Premium also offer a free one-year trial of RIDE COMMAND+, though prices will apply once the trial period ends.

There is a 200-watt audio system that has Bluetooth and USB options, however. That said, a heated seat is also part of the package to help riders stay warm during rides in the cooler months. In terms of safety, there are multiple ride modes, as well as cruise control and ABS.

The Indian also boasts 35.8 gallons of storage capacity, keyless ignition, heated grips, and a power windshield, which are all features that are not as prominent or nonexistent as the Road Glide Special. Unfortunately, price is also a component here: depending on color, the Pursuit Limited Premium can cost between $14,999- $16,399.

The Indian takes the podium when it comes to performance and riding dynamics. As for the luxury features, both the Harley and Indian are neck-on-neck here. The choice comes down to its pricing which, yet again, is aggressive in the case of the Pursuit Limited Premium. The Road Glide Limited is on the premium side. So, if pricing is the deciding criteria, then the Pursuit Limited Premium makes all the more sense.
