A recall for certain 2018 - 2019 Freightliner Cascadia models with improperly tightened brake calipers is slated to go into effect on August 13, 2018.

Daimler Trucks North America has issued a recall for certain 2018-2019 model year Freightliner Cascadia tractors for  improperly torqued brake caliper mounting bolts. According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, these bolts may not have been properly tightened at the factory, resulting in the possibility of reduced braking performance and the increased risk of a crash resulting from the caliper detaching from the wheel assembly.

DTNA is notifying owners of affected vehicles, and Freightliner dealers will inspect brake caliper mounting bolts and tighten them as necessary, free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin on Aug. 13, 2018. If you suspect your truck may be affected by the recall, you can contact DTNA Customer Service at 1-800-547-0712 and refer to case number FL-775.
