Dodge revived the "Super Bee" nameplate with the 2023 Charger Super Bee Edition. It offers new features, colors, and one distinct perk.

The electrification of the automobile sector is a decent step toward reducing carbon footprints and global warming. However, it is a piece of bad news for car enthusiasts and a nightmare for more Mopar heads like us. Nonetheless, all good things must come to an end, and Dodge, despite their reluctance to embrace the electric era, has finally agreed with their first EV.

The Charger and Challenger are very important products for Dodge and the electrification of Dodge is shocking news. Dodge will bid the final adieu to the legendary Charger and Challenger with seven special editions of "Last Call" models.

Recently they introduced the Dodge Challenger Shakedown, the first of seven Last Call models, and now they have released another piece stating the release of the Charger Super Bee, the second Last Call model. The Super Bee first saw light in 1968 and, after four years, was reintroduced by Dodge as the Charger model in 1971. If you're someone who loves cars, you don't need the introduction of the Dodge Charger, do you?

The Charger is a legendary muscle car often featured in movies and is the epitome of raw American power and its legacy. The Charger is one of those sedans that you can use as a family car as well as use for guilty pleasures on weekends. While we leave this whining for another article, let us take a look at the most important feature of the Dodge Charger Super Bee below. Shall we?

Dodge is in a melancholic state, and they are steadily planning to give the Charger the sendoff it deserves. As confirmed by Dodge, the upcoming Charger Super Bee will be the most powerful Charger Super Bee model to date. According to Tim Kuniskis, "The 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee aims to carry on that legacy by offering the highest-performance Charger Super Bee model ever produced."

Dodge further stated that the Super Bee will get the iconic "Scat Pack" as standard equipment, meaning it will be powered by the legendary 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V8 engine combined with the previous eight-speed automatic gearbox, propelling the rear wheels.

For those who aren’t familiar with the specs, this engine is capable of churning out a healthy 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque, pushing the car to 60 mph in around 4.2 seconds. Dodge also outfitted the Super Bee with a set of Brembo four-piston high-performance disc brakes with red calipers that will offer drivers a stronger and smoother braking response.

As with the "Last Call" models of the Charger, Dodge intends to keep the Super Bee synonymously iconic for years to come, and it will be highly exclusive with a limited number of units on sale. As mentioned above, the Scat Pack will be standard on the Super Bee and, just like regular Scat Pack models, Dodge will sell the Super Bee in both Narrow Body (RWD) and Widebody (RWD) models.

Dodge will manufacture only 1,000 units of the Super Bee to maintain its sophisticated nature. The company will offer 500 Scat Pack units draped in B5 Blue exterior paint and 500 Scat Pack Widebody models adorned in Plum Crazy exterior paint. If you just thought, "Oh, that would be enough!", well, Dodge plans to make the Super Bee even more celebratory with further visual decorations.

The Charger Super Bee’s fascia will come decorated with Super Bee-specific exterior badges on the front fenders and grille. The fascia will be provided with a newly designed SRT hood scoop with dual heat extractors along with white exterior graphics. At the back, the rear fascia will feature SRT black exhausts, Super Bee logos, and a white Callout Super Bee decal.

Inside, the cabin will wear a Super Bee-inspired interior trim consisting of a mixture of the contents of the Plus Group, Carbon, and Suede Package. The interior will feature a Super Bee-styled instrument panel and Super Bee-embossed seats. Apart from these, both the interior and exterior will carry "Last Call", "Designed In Auburn Hills" and "Assembled In Brampton" aluminum plaques to signify the Charger’s legendary status and origin.

As mentioned earlier, Dodge has tried to make the Super Bee the fastest Charger to date. While this would’ve been an easy process if they tuned the HEMI V8 engine, Dodge has done something none expected. They have kept the V8 engine in its very form and worked on the driving dynamics of the Super Bee. Certainly, Dodge’s priority wasn’t power. In fact, according to our understanding,

Dodge was more interested in making the Super Bee a swift family car that could haul families comfortably as well as "fly to low quarter-mile ETs". To achieve such an ambitious goal, they have outfitted the Super Bee with "Radial Tires". Dodge has certainly focused on track performance when it comes to the Super Bee’s potential. The Scat Pack will feature a set of 20/9.5-inch knurled wheels with 275 drag radials for extra traction on tracks to optimize performance.

The Scat Pack Widebody, on the other hand, will wear a set of 18/11-inch drag wheels with 315 drag radials. Dodge says these tires will give the Super Bee a distinct character and will offer buyers "a vehicle at home both on the street and the strip." In addition, Dodge has also put some serious effort into the driving dynamics of the car.

For a car that’s designed to meet both family duties and strip thrills effortlessly, Dodge has outfitted the Super Bee with a set of adaptive dampers with drag mode. While the performance-focused dampers will help the Super Bee stay poised at higher speeds, we also expect these dampers to offer a good ride quality for the sake of families.
