Bowler has introduced their new Extreme tuning program for classic Land Rover Defenders.

Available on Defender 90, 110, and 130 variants, the Extreme package gives the model a rugged look as well as improved off-road capability.

The changes are immediately apparent as models are equipped with a Fast Road suspension kit that provides an additional 2 inches (51 mm) of lift. The company also installs extended wheel arches, which help to cover 16-inch beadlock wheels that are wrapped in 35-inch BFGoodrich tires.

The upgrades don’t end there as models are outfitted with a lightweight front bumper, recovery points, and an external roll cage. Other highlights include LED lighting units, rock sliders, and a Bowler rear step kit. They’re joined by billet aluminum components, a roof rack, and new exterior vents.

The upgrades extend into the cabin as drivers will find Recaro seats, a MOMO steering wheel, and black Bowler shifters. The company also installs an Alcantara headliner, additional soundproofing, and an Alpine infotainment system with GPS navigation.

Under the hood, there’s a Stage 2 performance package which includes a race intercooler and an ECU remap. The company didn’t go into many specifics, but noted the package increases power and torque. In the case of this Defender 110 pickup, it develops 175 hp (130 kW / 177 PS) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque.

Along with the increased power, there’s a Bowler big brake kit. It adds four piston calipers as well as larger discs that measure 13.1 inches (334 mm) front and 11.7 inches (297 mm) rear.

Extreme Defenders will be built on a “commission-only basis” and only a limited number will be made each year. Pricing is dependent on a variety of factors including whether or not the customer is providing the donor vehicle.
