The M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M will be limited to just 500 vehicles in North America and start at $95,700.
BMW Motorsport GmbH was founded almost 50 years ago to this day. In the decades that followed its inception, the performance division dominated race series around the globe, all while delivering some of the best driver's cars on the planet. To celebrate, BMW is releasing a limited-edition M3 in some very exciting throwback colors.
The M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M, which translates literally to M3 Edition 50 years of BMW M, is based on the 2023 M3 Competition xDrive. That means a twin-turbo straight-six under the hood making 503 hp, sending power to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic. Every package and option, save for the carbon bucket seats and carbon-ceramic brakes, come as standard. All customers have to do is choose between three colors of brake caliper and their preferred exterior color. And there are some fantastic colors to choose from. From BMW's release:
M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M cars also get forged wheels finished in matte grey, a carbon splitter, carbon-surround exhaust pipes, a carbon fiber spoiler, and retro BMW Motorsport badges. Inside you'll find “Edition 50 Jahre BMW M” door sill trims and an aluminum plaque on the cupholder cover that reads "1/500."
That's because BMW is sending North America just 500 examples of the M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M, each with a starting price of $97,500 plus $995 destination. Production is expected to begin in July 2022.
